TMC NEEDS YOUR Support - Consider Donating Today!

We hope you agree with these words of our Leader and Founder, Imam W Deen Mohammed - "I think the focus always for me is the best life we can possibly have on this earth, recognizing that we didn't create it, that there is a Creator over us. In the New Year, I will be addressing taking a bigger share of personal responsibility, and that we should feel the guilt for the conditions in the life of our people. If we are not conscious and we neglect these things and it doesn't touch our hearts and minds, that is neglect. It is a sin to be unconscious."

The Mosque Cares - Ministry of Imam W Deen Mohammed plans on continuing our current programs and projects PLUS rolling out new community building partnerships and initiatives which will be announced early 2017.

BECOME A HELPER / ANSAR and set up worry-free, recurring donations. Visit our website daily and see your money at work.

We thank all of you, our supporters in the way of Allah. Our activities would not be successful without your consistent participation, support, donations and duas for our work and organization.

Thank you and may Allah bless us all with a happy and progressive New Year.

Imam W Deen Mohammed "Week Of Upliftment"

On Monday of this week The Mosque Cares launched the IMAM W DEEN MOHAMMED WEEK OF UPLIFTMENT. For the last seven days of the year, we invite you to join us in choosing favorite lectures by Imam W Deen Mohammed from your/our personal libraries and listening to one or more each day, preferably with family, friends and loved ones with the hope of encouraging positive discussion after.

This is a new initiative that we hope to continue next year and in the future. Some of us listen to Imam W. Deen Mohammed every day, but we believe this is a unifying effort for us, Followers and Students of Imam Mohammed.

The main focus of this week is to enjoy the benefits of a lecture a day whether at home, the office or in the car. This is a perfect opportunity to brighten some of the doldrums that may come along this time of year. As believers we know that Allah's mercy is greatest on our collective efforts. Don't forget to check in on neighbors and Believers who may be less fortunate or could use your help. May Allah bless us all with a happy and progressive New Year. Ameen

Here are a few of our favorite lectures by Imam W Deen Mohammed:

E84 - Liberating the Community

E92 - The Spirit of Black America

E105 - The Time For The Destiny Of The Common Good

E99 - Religion and Business

2016 December First Sunday Community Roundtable

VIEW PROGRAM PHOTOS:  TMCPartnersAgainstHunger

Food insecurity is a problem in the United States. Statistics show that 1 in 6 people face hunger every day. The USDA defines "food insecurity" as the lack of access, at times, to enough food for all household members. While there is no shortage of food, this issue impacts every county in our country.

The Mosque Cares plans to collaborate with Muslims Against Hunger and the interfaith community on this important initiative with a goal of making a lasting impact for vulnerable children, families, and communities through building a strong network of vigorous volunteers and donors focused on ending hunger nationally. We will keep you updated as planning progresses, G'd willing.

The Mosque Cares Congratulates Cardinal Blase J. Cupich

Imam Warithudeen Mohammed II was part of the ecumenical/interreligious delegation procession December 4, 2016 at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago.

In the spirit of the common good, The Muslim and Catholic communities have had a close relationship in the Chicagoland area. Through the years, we have come together to face many civic and social issues. Pope Francis has invited all people of good to undertake the task of dialogue and service.

The Mosque Cares - Ministry of Imam W Deen Mohammed plans to continue working for better human conditions all over the world.

Commemorating Mandela Day!

Nelson Mandela changed our world forever as he worked tirelessly to dismantle racism and the evils that come with it while simultaneously working toward racial reconciliation.  Mandela’s stance on social justice is a standard that has impacted people across the globe. He was a friend of Muslim Americans, who also supported his fight against apartheid. On June 30, 1990 Mandela met with Imam W. Deen Mohammed in Oakland, California.  Imam Mohammed donated $85,000 to Mr. Mandela on behalf of the Muslim American Community under his leadership.  With a long history of commitment to the anti-apartheid struggle, Muslim Americans are proud to embody Mandela's spirit and quest for positive change.

With Heavy Hearts: We Stand With The People of Nice, France

Our hearts ache as we can't imagine what type of sickness causes a person to perpetrate such heinous violence. The Mosque Cares thoughts and prayers are with all victims and their families affected by this tragedy. We stand united with all human kind against murder and violence directed toward innocent people. As citizens all of us have a responsibility of keeping the peace.

If we see or know someone suffering from mental illness or violent tendencies we should consult with community services on seeking counsel for individuals that may need counseling. It is our belief that if we all work together to be eyes and ears to protect against violence and potential violence, along with our prayers for peace, a difference can be made.

"Nothing can offer you the kind of comfort with your fellow human being like that bond that unites us under G-D. Unity is important, because human beings want peace." Imam W. Deen Mohammed

One America Campaign AND This Year in July - Three events in one ‎Ramadan Session; ‪New World Patriotism;‬ ‪FirstSunday‬

"The government of the United States and the Constitution of this great land recognize this inherent nature or inborn gift from The Creator, G-d, as we call Him Allah in Al-Islam for Muslims.  The government document reads, "We hold these Truths to be self-evident." The government took the position that not even the power of government can take away those rights." - Imam W. Deen Mohammed

As Muslims we are working to present our own narrative to the American public. Muslim Americans understand the magnitude of the challenge facing our nation and our community.  The Mosque Cares is participating in USCMO initiatives which include: the One America Campaign to enhance understanding of Muslims and Islam; a Million Voters Registration Drive prior to the 2016 presidential election; and a National Open Mosque Day designed to help increase interactions between Muslims and people of other faiths and backgrounds. As always, The Mosque Cares will continue its strong alliances with interfaith partners, social justice groups and other minority communities, Insha Allah.

Muslim Americans Asked to Prepare for Muhammad Ali Funeral Prayer

(Washington, D.C., 6/6/2016) - The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), a coalition of leading national and local Muslim organizations is asking local communities to make preparations to attend the funeral prayer (salat al-janazah) for Muhammad Ali scheduled to be offered at noon Thursday in Louisville, KY. (Community members are encouraged to use #GenAli on social media to explain how they will continue his legacy.)

The janaza prayer will be held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY and will be lead by Imam Zaid Shaker. Funeral organizers chose the venue both because it seats 18,000 and because it holds historical significance for the hometown hero. Ali fought, and won, his first professional fight there in 1960.

Communities that are unable to send representatives to the Louisville funeral prayer are being asked to organize local prayers, called "salat al-ghaib" (sa-lat al-gha-ib), which are performed for Muslims who have died in a distant place. Those prayers could be offered either before the nightly Ramadan taraweeh or after jummah prayers on Friday.

MEDIA NOTE: Muslim American leaders will hold a news conference in Louisville, KY., just prior to the funeral prayers to highlight the historic impact of Muhammad Ali's life and to explain Islamic funeral practices. More details will be released later.

On Friday June 10, a public funeral will be held at the  KFC Yum! Center in Louisville. World dignitaries will be attending the funeral ceremony including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and King Abdullah II of Jordan. President Bill Clinton will deliver a eulogy.

Later this week, a suggested sermon (khutba) outlining Muhammad Ali's importance to the American Muslim community and to the way Islam is viewed in our nation will be distributed to Islamic prayer leaders (imams) who will conduct the normal congregational prayers (jummah) this coming Friday.

The Mosque Cares - Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed wishes you and your loved ones a blessed Ramadan! May Allah (SWT) accept your fasting, prayers and good deeds during this Holy Month!   "We are disciplining our whole life for the Sake of G-d, and G-d says in the Qur'an: "Fasting is for Me." So the fasting person should know that the fast is for the pleasure of G-d, to please G-d, to fulfill a request that G-d made." - Imam W. Deen Mohammed

The Greatest Champ of All Time

When we look at the history of the African American community, one important factor in popularizing Islam in America is Muhammad Ali. Imam W. Deen Mohammed once said, “the greatest champ of all times as far as I'm concerned, Muhammad Ali; is one of my strongest supporters.”  Muhammad Ali is our Brother in Islam. With great sadness and love, The Mosque Cares | Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed offers heartfelt condolences to family, friends and community.

“Muhammad & Khalilah Ali are our family. We grew up with their children, Muhammad II, Maryum, Rasheda and Jamillah and their grand-parents Sadrudin and Amina Ali are two of Imam Mohammed’s most trusted supporters” said The Mosque Cares President Warithudeen Mohammed II, “one of my most cherished moments with Muhammad Ali was when he showed up on our block on the South Side of Chicago when I was a little boy one summer afternoon. All of the neighborhood children were playing in the street and who pulls up, Muhammad Ali! He shared hugs and laughter with all of us. And guess who was the proudest child of all, still today I am on a high from this encounter as he visited our family home and all my friends had proof of all of the exotic stories I had been telling them about.”

One of the most beloved men of our time, if not the most beloved African American man ever. Known as one of the most recognizable people on earth. He used his celebrity status in the promotion of peace. We celebrate and admire his extraordinary courage and strong faith. Him being a true Champion in and out of the boxing ring and when facing challenges and adversity. His legacy will live on as an inspiration to all of humanity. His life helped shape the culture of our entire country.

May Allah bless our Brother, Muhammad Ali with the highest station in paradise. Ameen
