Community Annoucement

Oussama Jammal
Secretary General
National Muslim Leadership Summit

Washington, D.C., 12/10/205The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) announced yesterday, Wednesday December 9, 2015, a National Leadership Summit to discuss the situation after the horrific shooting in San Bernardino, CA. The summit will address the concerns over the rising islamophobic rhetoric and the increase of violent backlash incidents against the American Muslim community and developing guidelines to ensure the safety and security of community members, their institutions, and places of worship. The summit will also discuss the alarming subversion of violent extremist ideology targeting members of the community and the steps to counter this disturbing influence.
The invitation to the national leadership summit went to Muslim leaders across the country including presidents of community centers and organizations, Imams, teachers, and youth counselors. USCMO will hold the leadership summit on Sunday December 20, 2015, in Washington, DC.
The USCMO leadership understands the magnitude of the challenge facing our community and will not allow islamophobes or ISIS to define American Muslims or to decide our fate. American Muslims will define themselves and will chart their destiny.

The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) is a coalition of leading national and local Muslim organizations. USCMO founding members are: American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA), Muslim American Society (MAS), Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA), Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA), and The Mosque Cares (Ministry of Imam W. Mourning with the San Bernardino Victims and Their Families

The Mosque Cares | Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed mourns with the victims of the heinous attack on innocent people and we stand hand-in-hand with all those who are affected by the criminal acts of individuals in San Bernardino, CA.

No one should be so selfish as to believe that taking the life of a human being is ever justified.  "If anyone slew a person, it would be as if he slew the whole people; and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people."  (5:32)

We all should continue to work closely with law enforcement, community service leaders, and the broader community to prevent such tragedies by immediately reporting suspicious activities.  We often hear this message which should be shared and passed on “If you see something, say something.”

Every American deserves quality, affordable health care.

Starting today, the Health Insurance Marketplace is open for business. This means something for all of us.

Re-enrolling or Never been covered?  If you need health insurance for 2016, visit right now, apply, and get covered.

NOW is the time to do it. Just make sure you create an account so that you can log back in, apply, and enroll, or just update your info before January 31, 2016.

Plans on the Marketplace change every year and, new, better and more affordable plans might be available in your area this time around.

If you're already covered, help spread the word to friends, family and loved ones -- let them know it's time to join the millions of Americans getting covered during the next three months.

Right now, too many Americans who stand to benefit most from coverage have no idea what "open enrollment" means, what kind of coverage they're eligible for, or what health care might mean for them.  It's time to #GetCovered.

Global Dawah Day

We NEED your participation. Join us tomorrow and submit your recipe during #GlobalDawahDay

Last year, The Mosque Cares along with Muslims from 60+ countries across 6 continents participated in Global Dawah Day, making it one the biggest dawah days in modern history.

This year’s campaign was designed under the slogan “Who Do You Love?” to share with the world why Muslims love Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
With this in mind, we invite and encourage all faith-based people to submit a recipe during Global Dawah Day, June 20th - visit

Food is universal and brings us together.  Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said "Eat together and do not separate, for the blessing is in being together."

Juneteenth Observance

"All African Americans should know about this observance day.  Our history as Americans and as Muslims has developed to unite us again with the Motherland, Africa.

It is a new life we want for ourselves as descendants of Africa in America.  Recently, we made a statement expressing these deep sentiments, the Statement is: “A commitment to continue in the best tradition of the African American struggle for improvement on self and race.”

This is expressed in the language, New Africa. Juneteenth observance gives us an opportunity to publish our best sentiments and preserve this day that celebrates our Emancipation.  The Emancipation process must continue until we are free spiritually as well as bodily."  Imam W. Deen Mohammed

Mayor Rahm Emanuel Joins Community, Faith and Business Leaders toKick-Off Second Annual Summer of Faith and Action

The Mosque Cares joined Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, residents, community, faith and business leaders to kick-off the second annual Summer of Faith and Action, a citywide violence prevention initiative to promote safety throughout Chicago communities in the summer months.

"While we may be a city of different neighborhoods, when it comes to keeping our kids safe, we are one Chicago," said Mayor Emanuel. "Whether it is West Side, South Side or North Side, Faith and Action is about one city coming together with a common purpose to keep our children safe, secure, and supervised this summer."

On Friday May 22nd from 7-9 PM, Summer of Faith and Action, encourages faith and community leaders, business owners and residents to gather together focusing on creating a safe and secure environment throughout the Chicagoland area.

Last year nearly 1,000 residents gathered at over 100 locations across the City marking the first night of Faith and Action. This year participants have planned barbeques, street corner prayer, rallies, block club parties, CAPS activities and events for youth.

Bringing our supporters and attendees into promotion of our Annual Muslim Convention

The Mosque Cares is bringing our supporters and attendees into promotion of our Annual Muslim Convention. We now have convenient business card size promotional material with registration and contact. This allows everyone, including you to participate.  This is our national Dawah effort and Dawah is an obligation for Muslims which is a gift and mercy from Allah (SWT).

Allah (SWT) says in the Quran: "Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity." (3:104)

For example those things Allah (SWT) has forbidden for us should not be looked upon as a hardship but as an invitation to conduct lawful business. As African American people we are well aware of the low rate of our dollars changing hands among our own people. Through the promotion of halal products at the Annual Muslim Convention and throughout our communities nationwide and worldwide we can change those negative circumstances to positive if we all take on this great challenge of doing more for self and kind.

If you would like to participate in this effort to invite our friends and fellow citizens to our Annual Muslim Convention email your contact information and requested quantity to

FYI - full size 8.5x11 flyers are also available. Don't forget to hang these in areas visible to the public.

Thank you for your time, May Allah (SWT) continue to guide and bless all of our good works.
