Saviors Day 2014

The Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed needs your help.

Imam W. Deen Mohammed’s support has consisted of men and women who joined the movement under his father’s leadership and who, under his leadership, made the transition.  Their support has been the backbone of all that we do.

We need your renewed commitment to support his ministry as many of your parents and grandparents have, throughout the years.

“We Cannot Stop Now”  The future progress of our community needs you now more than ever.

This is a fundraiser that will go a long way in providing much needed vital resources and support to Muslims throughout our community.

If you cannot attend these programs, please purchase a ticket anyway.  Your purchase of these tickets are still needed, as 100% of the proceeds will go to the expense of this event and to the operation and growth of our plan of building model communities and halal zones.

The Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed has continued Imam Mohammed’s legacy and programs established by him, which we consider institutions of this great united community of Muslims.  We thank you for your support.

Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed - Mourning The Loss Of Nelson Mandela

It is with heavy hearts that we send condolences and messages of love and support to the Mandela family.

Nelson Mandela's influence and excellent leadership have led to great things for South Africa and all of humanity; we have all benefited from his promotion of peace and reconciliation.

President Barack Obama said, "We will not likely see the likes of Nelson Mandela again. So it falls to us as best we can to forward the example that he set: to make decisions guided not by hate, but by love; to never discount the difference that one person can make; to strive for a future that is worthy of his sacrifice."

May G-d have mercy on him and grant him Paradise.

How to Access Health Insurance and Services

Millions of Americans lack quality, affordable health care coverage, which is essential for healthy individuals, families and communities. Faith and community-based organizations often provide the link between those who are most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach and the health services they need. Below are resources for health insurance, health benefits and services for those in need in your congregation and community.

Enroll in Health Insurance: http://www.HealthCare.gov  is the website to use to find out how to enroll in health insurance and compare prices, quality and coverage of health insurance plans. The website is also available in Spanish at http://www.CuidadoDeSalud.gov.

Learn about the Health Insurance Marketplace by clicking on the “Learn” button and watch videos on the Marketplace. Starting October 1, call 1-800-318-2596 if you have questions or click on the “local help” tab to find someone you can talk to in person.

Key Dates
October 1, 2013 Enrollment begins.
December 15, 2013 Last day to complete the application process and have insurance coverage that begins on January 1, 2014
March 31, 2014 Open enrollment ends.
October 2014 Open enrollment opens

Resources on the Health Care Law: The website http://marketplace.cms.gov/ provides the most up-to-date resources and information on the Affordable Care Act. Here you will be able to find official resources, such as presentations, fact sheets, widgets and badges, multimedia resources, talking points and other tools that you can share with your congregation and community to educate and help with enrollment. You can also sign up to receive the latest news about the Marketplace by e-mail.

CHIP services usually cover doctor visits, prescription drugs, emergency care, hospital care, vaccinations, vision, hearing and dental care. In many states, families can have higher incomes and their children can still qualify.

Community Health Centers: http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/ provides a list and map for local community health centers that receive federal funds. Community health centers provide health care on a

Mental health and substance abuse care is an important component of the Affordable Care Act. We will cover Mental and Spiritual Health, Nutritional Health, Cardio, Strength, Breathing and Relaxation fitness training for All! FEATURING SPECIAL GUEST:
Khadijah Islam, Harrisonburg, VA.  - Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) BA, BSN, will speak to you for few minutes before each workout session to enlighten you on “What actually happens to your body when you exercise-The Benefits and Risk”

Sister Khadijah is from Philadelphia, PA and she currently resides in Harrisonburg, VA. This knowledgeable sister joined Nation of Islam 1971 and continued under the leadership of W.D. Muhammad. She has a BA in Sociology from Howard University; she also has a BS in nursing and has been a Critical Case Registered Nurse (CCRN) for nearly 30 years. Sister Khadijah currently works at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA as a Critical Care Staff RN. Imam Mutee A. Mulazim, MS, PSA, CSOTS will provide you with insight on the connection of mental, spiritual and physical health with emphasis on how to strive toward excellent mental and spiritual health.

Imam Mutee is the resident Imam of Masjid Al-Inshirah, Inc. in Baltimore County, Maryland. Under his leadership the community has purchased a 25 acre property which is currently being developed as Masjid Al-Inshirah/Peace Center. Another major accomplishment is that Imam Mutee and his wife Tiye Mulazim started Shura, Inc. agency, a residential provider to the intellectually disabled, with locations across Maryland. Imam Mutee is a behavioral therapist, a licensed Psychiatric Assistant, (PSA) and a Certified Sexual Offender Treatment Specialist (CSOTS). He coined the phrase ‘Post Traumatic Shirk Disorder’. Mutee is also an ABD Doctoral candidate.

His first love is being a Muslim using the excellent example of Prophet Muhammad (prayers and peace be upon him) and he feels honored to have served under Imam W.D. Mohammed during his lifetime. He joined the Nation of Islam in 1972 and in 1975 continued under the leadership of Imam W.D. Mohammad. The Imam has traveled to many countries around the world including parts of Africa, and Turkey spreading the positive message of Islam. During one of his visits, he delivered a talk to the governing body of Senegal on ‘Islam and the Plight of Former Slaves’.

He is a marriage counselor along with his wife Tiye of over 40 years. They were also blessed to complete their Hajj together in 1994. They frequently lecture on developing a successful marriage using psychology of the Holy Quran. They previously were hosts of ‘Iqraa’, an Islamic awareness radio show in Baltimore, MD. The couple has set an outstanding example for their children, grandchildren and the community to follow.

You can follow the development of Masjid Al-Inshirah’s Peace Center by logging onto their website at: www.Maipeacecenter.org

Haneefah Salim, Certified Fitness Professional-Many of you are familiar with me and you have taken some of my fitness classes at the prior Annual Muslim Conventions. This year, I plan to provide you with a total of four workout sessions during the weekend. ‘Ladies Cardio Jam'-A fun mix of Line Dance and Latin Jams on Saturday and Sunday Mornings followed by ‘Everyone’s Powercise’- This is a No Impact strengthening, flexibility, breathing and relaxation training for everyone-women, men youth and those with limitations.

For those of you who are not familiar with me, here’s a brief look at my experience: I’m from Philadelphia PA, and I am currently located in Maryland. I have been a strong supporter of the Leadership of W.D. Muhammad for many years. Among my many Blessings is that I have been able to complete the Hajj journey twice. Currently, I serve as the Fitness Coordinator/Consultant for the Al-Mu’adhdhan Hajj group located in Philadelphia, PA.

I have over ten years of experience in the fitness field. My B.S. degree is in Health Care Administration and my four fitness certifications are from the American Aerobic Association International and the International Sports Medicine Association ( aka AAAI-ISMA). ‘Fitness Life Pro’, the business which I own and operate, provides services in health and fitness for all levels and includes personal training and group training. ‘Fitness Life Pro’ workshops and exercise classes are held at various facilities located within and outside of the USA. In my travels, I have found that there is a great need to educate and aid the masses in the struggle against obesity related diseases. Please note: that without proper guidance and education your children that are currently extremely overweight or obese will most likely carry that into adulthood.

As part of a Government Nationwide Fitness Campaign to fight obesity, I participated in an exercise DVD which became an effective fitness tool for employees throughout the agency. You can find several of my own exercise sessions on DVDs, which I created for all levels for your home use at: www.FitnessLifePro.

I’m certain that every one of you will be able to benefit from our Health and Wellness team. This year’s 24th Annual Muslim Convention will be held at Tinley Park, ILL. Convention Center from August 30 through September 1, 2013.
