Nelson Mandela changed our world forever as he worked tirelessly to dismantle racism and the evils that come with it while simultaneously working toward racial reconciliation. Mandela’s stance on social justice is a standard that has impacted people across the globe. He was a friend of Muslim Americans, who also supported his fight against apartheid. On June 30, 1990 Mandela met with Imam W. Deen Mohammed in Oakland, California. Imam Mohammed donated $85,000 to Mr. Mandela on behalf of the Muslim American Community under his leadership. With a long history of commitment to the anti-apartheid struggle, Muslim Americans are proud to embody Mandela's spirit and quest for positive change.

Our hearts ache as we can't imagine what type of sickness causes a person to perpetrate such heinous violence. The Mosque Cares thoughts and prayers are with all victims and their families affected by this tragedy. We stand united with all human kind against murder and violence directed toward innocent people. As citizens all of us have a responsibility of keeping the peace.
If we see or know someone suffering from mental illness or violent tendencies we should consult with community services on seeking counsel for individuals that may need counseling. It is our belief that if we all work together to be eyes and ears to protect against violence and potential violence, along with our prayers for peace, a difference can be made.
"Nothing can offer you the kind of comfort with your fellow human being like that bond that unites us under G-D. Unity is important, because human beings want peace." Imam W. Deen Mohammed

The Mosque Cares sponsored Ramadan Session, an intensive study weekend held during the last 10 days of Ramadan, was established over 20 years ago by Imam W. Deen Mohammed, founder of The Mosque Cares | Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed. With your support, The Mosque Cares continues this tradition with a goal of sharing Imam Mohammed's deep insight into scriptural language. The Ramadan Session has continued to mark our focus on our spiritual growth and development as we seek to understand our most sacred obligations as part of Allah's creation. In addition, due to the timing of Independence Day, the New World Patriotism Day Commemoration Iftar was held July 2.
We are working hard to preserve the teachings and life's work of Imam W. Deen Mohammed. The Ramadan Session establishes leadership and improves community life for Muslims in America under the instruction of Qur'an, Sunnah and Imam W. Deen Mohammed's tafsir. We are truly blessed to be alive in this time. We thank Allah for the opportunity to serve, and pray Allah continues to inspire and motivate us.

"Independence Day, and I am inviting you to come to my meaning of Patriotism and walk these streets and know that they belong to you as much as they belong to any man. And see your future in this country, and believe that the world is open to you as much as it is open to any man. Go on and build a great life for yourself, as much as any man in the United States of America." Imam W. Deen Mohammed #July4th
