The U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), participated in the first united Muslim American Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, which took place April 13, 2015 at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
One of the next steps in growing the Muslim American community’s political capacity and ability to “move the needle” in Washington, D.C. is to host a national Muslim day of congressional advocacy on Capitol Hill.
This event connected national, regional and state Muslim organizations, community members and activists with over a third of the U.S. House of Representatives and a half of the Senate. USCMO scheduled face-to-face meetings between Muslim delegates and legislators that focused on the domestic priorities of the Muslim American community.
