Earth Day 2015 - #TMCUp2U

People of all faiths live in the same world and share the same resources.  We will all be impacted by climate change and we are all responsible for working together on solutioning environmental issues.  The Mosque Cares is working to promote collective grass roots efforts as one way to tackle climate change.  Every positive action we take as individuals affects change.  Our campaign centers around each one of us reducing our carbon footprint, which collectively equates to reducing devastating impacts to the earth, our planet.  Faith and logic tells us to respect the earth.  Our livelihood comes from the planet itself, so we should work with nature without causing irreparable damage to it.  Get involved and work to improve life.  Quoting the Holy Quran "And Allah sends down rain from the skies, and gives therewith life to the earth after its death: verily in this is a Sign for those who listen." [16:65]

Today the TMC Youth In Action committee kicks off the "Up To You" campaign in support of sustainable living.  We encourage you to post ideas or things you do in support of planet sustaining activities using #TMCUp2U

Why do we need an Earth Day?  Because it works! Earth Day broadens the base of support for environmental programs, rekindles public commitment and builds community activism around the world through a broad range of events and activities. Earth Day is the largest civic event in the world, celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a billion people participate in Earth Day campaigns every year.
