Commemoration Ceremony in Honor of Mayor Harold Washington

Mayor Harold Washington was elected Mayor of Chicago in 1983 and served until his passing in 1987.  He previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Illinois Senate and the Illinois House of Representatives.

Mayor Washington showed us that community empowerment and participation are a force for a more effective government.  Under his leadership local housing, neighborhood and economic development groups became key partners in moving Chicago forward.

Mayor Washington made an indelible mark on our city, and we are the beneficiaries of his vision and leadership.*

This Veterans Day We Thank You!

This Veterans Day we thank all Believers in Uniform and their families for the tremendous contributions they have made to our community and our nation.

We are deeply honored and recognize all who have proudly worn our country's uniform throughout the years and thank you and your families for your selfless service, both seen and unseen.
Let's all remember that honoring those who served isn't just about Veterans Day, it's about all of us serving humanity in some capacity each and every day.
